Amitron Corporation has announced that the company has achieved certification MIL-PRF-31032. The reciprocal certification clause in Appendix B of MIL-31032 allows Amitron Corporation to produce product to the much older, but still very significant MIL-PRF-55110F.
Amitron Corporation has now joined a very small group of certified printed circuit board manufacturers in the United States. The MIL-PRF-31032 certification is a natural extension of the already existing ISO 9001:2015.
MIL-PRF-31032 is a certification based on a military performance specification titled “Printed Circuit Board/Printed Wiring Board, General Specification For” whose scope specifies the performance requirements for printed circuit boards or printed wiring boards and the confirmation requirements for insuring that these items meet the relevant performance requirements. This specification intends to allow the device manufacturer the freedom to enact best commercial practices while still delivering products that meet military performance needs. Certification to this standard is intended for manufacturers of the kinds of devices mentioned above that wish to be suppliers to the Department of Defense. To become certified, a company must submit a formal request to the Department of Defense for a certification audit. A qualifying activity (the organizational element of the government that grants certifications) will determine an organization’s adequacy and compliance to the requirements listed in this standard. The determination involves verification of the implemented quality management (QM) plan by a Technical Review Board, validation of the effectiveness of the implementation of the QM plan, and demonstrated capability to produce a printed board technology.
